Wound care is a specialty area of physical therapy that involves prevention, assessment, and treatment of acute or chronic wounds that will not heal via traditional wound care methods. Unfortunately, many chronic wounds heal very slowly, do not heal, or worsen despite best efforts for caregivers to promote tissue repair. Our Physical Therapists have been trained in the application of several treatment modalities for wound care.
- Electronic Stimulation: can be used on chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers and arterial ulcers by using high volt pulsed current (HVPC)
- Ultrasound assisted wound treatment
- Laser treatment for non-healing wounds
- Vaccum assisted Closure
- Sharp debridement (with Physical order)
- Sympathetic & Parasympathetic Pain Management
- Diabetic Ulcers
- Venous Stasys/ Arterial Ulcers
- Deep Tissue Injury
- Traumatic Wounds
- Post Surgical Wounds
- Treatment of the Kinetic Chain
- Neuromuscular Facilitation and Re-Education
